VFlood
Rainfall–runoff–inundation flood model in Python (NumPy/Numba). Simulates how rain becomes river flow and overland flooding across a basin; it produced the lab's flood simulations.

Builds a basin model from a DEM, with the derived stream network reconciled to the real river, reads the VRain design-rainfall package and computes design flood hydrographs with HEC-HMS; exports boundary conditions for HEC-RAS and VFlood.

The middle step of the lab’s design-flood chain (VRain → VBasin → VFlood). Stream networks delineated from a DEM often miss the real river in flat floodplains, dense towns or at bridges; VBasin reconciles them with the mapped river before splitting the basin into sub-basins and assigning curve numbers.
It reads the design-rainfall package written by VRain, runs HEC-HMS for the design storms, and writes hydrographs and boundary points ready for HEC-RAS or VFlood. River-corridor tools (cross-sections, Manning capacity, stage–storage) come with it.
